Joe Hunter has been playing piano professionally since 1978 and his versatility has garnered him work with an array of artists. He attended Cleveland State University where a 1979 exchange program in Rio De Janeiro fueled his fascination for Brazilian rhythms. He returned to Brazil in 1981 to study at the Universidade Gamma Filho. From 1987 to 1996 he served on the Conservatory of Music faculty at Capital University in Columbus, Ohio, He has performed with many national artists including Conti Condoli, Tito Puente, and Scott Hamilton, and is a favorite at many JazzFest events.

Tim Matson has been a member of Cleveland’s blues community since 1975 when he joined the Mr. Stress Blues Band. He has also played with Dave Morrison’s Aces & Eights, Wallace Coleman, Becky Boyd, Don Buchanan and Anthony Lovano, as well as his own Natural Facts. His song, “Frigidaire Woman” was recorded by Chicago blues man Son Seals. He has recorded with Stress, Coleman and Lovano and released two solo CDs, “Can’t Blame the Band,” and “Ten From My Pen,” the latter consisting of all original material.
Blues loving jazzman, Joe Hunter, and jazz loving bluesman, Tim Matson formed a duo during the summer of 2023. These veterans of the Northeast Ohio music scene play their unique interpretations of jazz and blues from the ’30s through the ’70s, as well as their own spin on pop tunes.
